ABOUT

Dear Visitor,

My name is David I. Bacsek, an explorer, researcher, and lifelong student of the natural world.

My experience travels through the fascinating realms of Herpetology, Geology, Botany, Zoology, and Animal Psychology, driven by unsatisfied curiosity and a deep respect for Earth’s most overlooked life forms.

Through my lens, I would like to invite you to experience the raw beauty of nature, especially the often hidden intricacies of minerals, fossils, and natural specimens.

Each photograph on this site is more than just an image for me, it’s a moment of discovery, a silent story told by a crystal formation, by a fossilised exoskeleton with a 480-million-year-old bite mark on it, or a mineral’s untouched geometry. My work is rooted in a scientific background forged at institutions like the University of London, COE,  University of Liverpool, and shaped through hands-on conservation work across China, Turkey, Peru, Mexico, Japan, India, Africa, and so on.

My scientific works have been published in several academic publications, magazines, and newspapers.

From the rainforests to rocky outcrops, from reptilian rescue missions to plant cognition studies, my goal has always been clear: to document, educate,  build, and share. I strive to bridge the worlds of research, conservation, public awareness, and now, through this photography, I aim to do the same visually.

Here, you’ll find untreated glimpses of the Earth’s story. No chemicals. No corrections. Just raw, natural beauty,  the way nature intended!

But the real reason I’m really doing this is because we have to keep exploring, to protect, and to marvel at the wonders beneath our feet and beyond the lens.

There is a story for all of us out there!
